Merry Christmas Everyone

Well, it's that time of year again. As a knitter, I always try to knit too much. This year, I didn't think that I would give anyone a knitted gift. Oh well. I'm trying to finish a couple of projects at the last minute. This is my favorite time of year. I love the lights in the neighborhoods, the Christmas trees, the chance to give gifts to those that I love. I also love getting cards from people I haven't seen in a while. It reminds me that I need to do more to connect with others. Well, enough of this. Cookies to bake and knitting to do.

Labor Day Weekend is here signalling the start of a new school year. This weekend has always been bittersweet for me. I hated seeing the end of summer but am always excited to start a new school year. With the start of the new school year, I'll be starting a new knitting project, Hey Teach. It's an appropriate project, I think:)

What a week!

This week has been a very full one. CANUSA weekend was a blast. It's such a great show of sportsmanship and friendship. The games were not as competitive in soccer as in past years but everyone enjoyed them all the same. Then I went up north for a few days and enjoyed knitting and going to my favorite knit shop, Tawas Bay Yarn Co. Peg, the owner, is so much fun and full of information. It's always a two hour trip, at least.... I've been known to spend the entire afternoon there. Couldn't leave the shop without a purchase or two. I found some yarn to do the Hey Teach sweater in. I decided to not use a cotton blend. I hope I like my choice. Thursday, I was back at school for some computer training in a new program we'll be using. It turned out to be a fun couple of days. But my brain is still on summer schedule. Today, I'm off to another yarn shop. My final splurge before school begins. I better start knitting faster:)

Just a start

Well, today is the day that I decided to take the plunge and just start talking about things. Probably mostly about knitting, but I do have a few other interests. I'll be watching as much of the Olympics as I can. Our city is involved in an international competition this weekend. The CANUSA games between Flint, MI and Hamilton, Ont are the longest running, consecutive international sports competitions. My husband and children have been involved for over 21 years, mainly with soccer. My husband and son are coaching a 12 and under soccer team this year so we'll all be out to root them on. It's a big weekend for us. We always have a blast and have made friends over the years from Hamilton.
